Introductory: What’s your name?
1. The aim of this lesson is that the student will be able to pronounce the jazz chants given orally and accurately with the right keywords stress, rhythm and intonation pattern.
2. The student will be able to exchange general information with another person.

Chant I: Names and place of origin or abode

What’s your name? Where are you from? What’s her name? Where do you live? What’s his name? Where is he from?		My name is Yo. From Mexico. Her name is Alice. In Buckingham Palace! His name is Tom. From New York City.

Chant II: Nicknames

What’s your nickname? Why’s that? What’s his nickname? Why’s that ? What’s her nickname? Why’s that ?		My nickname’s Lek. Because I’m small. His nickname’s Toh. Because he’s tall Her nickname’s Peung. Because she’s sweet.

Chant III: Hobbies and interests

Ok, Lek, what’s your hobby? What about Toh, what’s his hobby? What about Peung, what’s her hobby?		Collecting stamps, that’s my hobby. Taking photos, that’s his hobby Ice skating – she loves to skate.

Chant IV: Leisure Time

On the weekend, what do you do? On the weekend, where do you go? On the weekend, what do you like best?		Play badminton, and do homework too. To the mall, to eat and shop. To get a really, really good rest.
