Why and How to edit digital images

As stating in the related literatures that digital images are useful and should be considered as effective element in graphics and education.

However, because computer graphics are setting a high standard, viewers, even school students, are becoming more fussy. They don't like the poor picture. This is the reason why we need to use the computer technology to develop more appealing or clear images to use in education. In graphics design, image editing has been used to realistically blend old images into new better ones. The goal of image editing is to combine objects or regions from various still photographs to create a seamless, believable, image or image sequence which appears convincing and real. Editing images digitally is a good way to produce better quality images in general, since it is fairly easy to do.

With image composition tools, if one portion of the image needs alteration, the whole image does not need to be regenerated. Often you may be amazed by the photographic images. You may think "How could the photographer have such good luck to get such a perfect picture?". Actually , especially , with digital techniques today and software like 'photoshop', it is easier to get a good picture. Designers often 'cheat' they do not just use the original photograph with all the mistakes. They will retouch parts of the photo, change brightness, contrast and use the digital tools to get better pictures.

There are many ways to edit image digitally. This site will present the 7 typical ways of editing better images which are dramatically used in graphic design:

1. Cloning
2. Light/Color adjustments
3. Cropping
4. Resizing
5. Special effects
6. Combining
7. Rotating
