Digital Image Editing enhances and improves images in an almost endless number of ways. In the ways of editing described above, images can be edited and saved in any formats, at almost any size, and in varying degrees of compression. Hence, digital image editing is effective in graphics design and benefits all designers, teachers and learners by getting their attention, helping memory retention, incresing understanding or creating atmosphere and context.

For example, in education, teachers can use it to enhance learning materials e.g. use in lesson plans, websites, printed or copied teaching materials. Due to the novelty of the power and features available through the technology and, combined with their ease of use, image editing can be used in an assignment, a presentation, a calendar, or for greeting cards. Also, designers can use it for purposes other than education e.g. commercial advertising, a web page, a poster, a billboard, a magazine or a business card.
